Start date:
02/09/2019
Duration:
30 hours clock. 25 hours not face-to-face. 5 hours of practical and compulsory contact
Modality:
Online and in person

Basis

The study of the anatomy of the human body is part of the basic and essential subjects in the training of health professionals.

Comprehensive knowledge about the human body is to a large extent the foundation of clinical practice in all professions in the health field. Contemporary anatomy, specifically, is understood as clinically oriented and surgery is supported for its understanding by the anatomical preparation.

Current health professionals, in the health environment, and the interrelation with other specialties, establish the need for very specific training in the field of anatomy, this being the fundamental reason that General Anatomy must remain permanently updated in all degree courses related to health.

At the present time, there are no courses for updating and applying Anatomy aimed at health professionals to perform intra- and extra-articular infiltration practices with the use of the anatomical preparation such as Cadaver Lab.

This course is aimed at physicians in order to acquire anatomical, pharmacological knowledge and manual skill to perform infiltrations.

Objective

KNOWLEDGE OF ANATOMY AND ANATOMICAL REPAIRS FOR THERAPEUTIC APPROACH IN INFILTRATION TECHNIQUE

Specific objectives

Know of cortico therapy main and secondary pharmacological effects.
Acquire practical ability to recognize anatomical landmarks
Acquire practical skills for intra- and extra-articular infiltration

Teaching strategies

a- Theoretical through the Online Classroom.
• Anatomy: reading bibliographic material and images from Atlas to strengthen concepts of anatomy.
• Pharmacology, cortico therapy: reading bibliographic material to strengthen concepts of medical indications, mechanisms of action of corticosteroids, main, secondary and collateral effects.
• Multiple choice written exam: to reinforce concepts of anatomy with application to the clinical cycle.
b- PRACTICE
• UNIVERSITY OF MENDOZA CLASSROOM: lecture and multimedia image projection. Topics: anatomical concepts and anatomical repairs for infiltration. Practical exam, prior to entering the practical work room.
• NORMAL ANATOMY CHAIR, PRACTICAL WORK ROOM: on stainless steel stretchers, CADAVER LAB is developed, which consists of a demonstration of anatomical preparation where the anatomy is observed in a direct and real way in a dissected corpse.

The objectives are:

a- Recognition of anatomical elements.
b- Recognition of anatomical repairs.
c- Surgical field.
d- Infiltration technique with local anesthesia
e- Infiltration techniques with intra and extra articular corticosteroids.
f- Acquire manual skill of extra-articular and intra-articular infiltration when entering cadaveric articular cavities.

Minimum attendance required and evaluation modality
Compulsory required attendance in practical class

Admission requirement

Doctor.

Didactic resources

* CLASSROOM6thRTUAL for contribution of bibliographic material, forum and written exam
UNIVERSITY OF MENDOZA CLASSROOM, multimedia and audio projector.
