Basis


In this third edition of the course Contents are updated and expanded to cover an area of ​​Medicine that is growing in knowledge and therapeutic options. This is an area that requires an approach by multidisciplinary Work Teams made up of Intensivists, Neurologists, Neurosurgeons, Nurses, Kinesiologists and a large number of health professionals, who accompany the neurocritical patient and their family throughout the care process.

From the academic field, we are pioneers in Mendoza in providing training on this topic

General Purpose


Disseminate fundamental concepts in the approach of acute neurological pathology.

Understand the high impact on society in terms of mortality or sequelae

Know the initial care measures and early detection of patients who should be referred to more complex centers.

Specific objectives


1-Teach the ABC of management of the main neurocritical pathologies: cerebrovascular accident, cerebral hemorrhage, severe cranioencephalic trauma, spinal cord trauma, among others.
2-Learn the importance of proper application and interpretation of images.
3-Understand neuromonitoring techniques, their indication and their interpretation to guide therapy.
4-Understand and adequately indicate therapeutic strategies.
5-Know the importance of diagnosing brain death since it is an option in the evolution of the neurocritical patient and the importance of adequate maintenance of the potential organ donor.

Teaching strategies


Face-to-face classes will be given with Specialists, with whom the students of the course will be able to interact with questions and consultations of specific situations.

Each teacher leaves their class and bibliography on the Moodle platform for the activity at home.
