Basis

Train advanced students of medicine and related degree courses such as dentistry, kinesiology, pharmacy, etc. to be able to distinguish through clinical and imaging semiology, the different types of pain as well as to learn the medical-surgical therapeutic modalities currently available, achieving training of the personnel involved with the possibility of providing better health services to the community. Similar characteristics regarding the concept of spasticity.

Objective

Recognize pain and spasticity as their own nosological entities that require a multidisciplinary approach to optimize therapeutic results.

Specific objectives

1- Train participants to recognize and make adequate differential diagnoses of acute, chronic, neuropathic and non-neuropathic pain.
2- Update the pharmacological treatment.
3- Know the approach to pain in pediatrics.
4- Know the attitude that should be assumed before the elderly patient with pain.
5- Inform about the therapeutic approach in cancer patients.
6- Train on the neurosurgical procedures available to treat the patient with pain.
7- Update the information on the causes and treatment of spasticity)

2- Resolution of clinical cases.

Minimum attendance required and evaluation modality

80% attendance
Evaluation: online at the end of the course, the exam being available on the web for 7 days; Upon passing the exam, the certificate will be sent by mail.

1- Professionals in the health area interested in the subject
2-Advanced students of the degree courses related to Health Sciences (Medicine, Dentistry, Kinesiology, Pharmacy, etc.), preferably in the last year of the academic course.
