The teaching methodology and contents are defined according to international linguistic skills and competences and therefore, the levels are divided into A1 and A2, basic level, B1 and B2, intermediate, and C1 and C2, advanced, for those who master language exceptionally.

The language courses are divided into regular (7 months), intensive (4 months), specific (two levels of 2 months each). They are all online.

Students, teachers, administrative staff and graduates can consult about the program of scholarships to study languages.

Access

If I start from scratch:

If you do not have any knowledge of the language, you must select the A1 level option when pre-registering. In this case you will not need to perform a classification test.

If I already have knowledge of the language:

  1. If you have knowledge of the language, but you cannot prove it or you do not know exactly what level you have, you can previously carry out the following  level exam then enroll at your appropriate level. This test will let you know what is your most appropriate level to start.
  2. If you already have some knowledge of the language and can prove it with an official certificate, you must send it by mail to the International Relations Office so that we can tell you the level that corresponds.
  3. If you have taken and passed at the UM Language Center, you can automatically access the next level, without having to take the leveling exam. If you have taken it for more than two years, we recommend taking the leveling exam.
