Diploma in Comprehensive Approach to Violence against Children and Adolescents in the Life Center

Violence against children and adolescents in their primary care environment constitutes a complex social problem that directly challenges public health, comprehensive protection, and justice systems. It is a multi-causal phenomenon, permeated by social, cultural, economic, institutional, and subjective dimensions, requiring comprehensive, interdisciplinary, interinstitutional, and intersectoral approaches. Therefore, it is crucial to provide professionals with specific training in the prevention and management of this type of violence.

Within the framework of the Convention on the Rights of the Child and National Law No. 26.061 on Comprehensive Protection, Argentina has consolidated public policies that promote the recognition and guarantee of these rights. Specifically, the "center of life" is defined as the place where children and adolescents have spent the majority of their lives under legitimate conditions. Furthermore, the province of Mendoza is a pioneer in the institutional recognition of these issues since the enactment of Provincial Law No. 6551 in 1997 and the creation of the Provincial Program for the Prevention and Comprehensive Care of Child and Adolescent Abuse (PPMI).

The increasing complexity of the dynamics of physical and sexual violence perpetrated by adults responsible for care—categorized as "extreme violence"—demands the continuous updating of legal frameworks, protocols, and intervention methods. This Diploma program addresses these issues from a critical, situated epistemological perspective, with a firm focus on gender and human rights, constituting a distinctive and leading training program in the province of Mendoza.

Duration: 5 months (110 total hours).

Format: Hybrid (combines face-to-face meetings and synchronous online modules between August and December 2026).

Frequency: Every two weeks, on Fridays and Saturdays. Schedule: Fridays from 18 to 21 pm and Saturdays from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm.
