Universidad de Mendoza adopts, as one of the possibilities of continuous training, the figure of the Diploma understood as an educational unit closed in itself, made up of a set of subjects organized in modules of improvement, updating and / or deepening of a specific area of ​​knowledge, and that contributes to the development of professional or academic competencies.

The Diploma is organized around three (3) compulsory modules subject to evaluation, which are theoretical-practical training, in which various topics in the field of the specialty of Municipal Law are developed.

Objectives


The Diploma aims to:

  • Analyze the contents and scope of municipal autonomy in comparison with the twenty-three Argentine provinces.
  • Understand the true dimensions and complexities of municipal problems and local management.
  • Identify contents, structures and functions of the regulations applicable to the municipal reality, evaluate their operation.
  • Promote the specialization in municipal issues of lawyers, consultants and litigants, officials, and related professionals.
  • Analyze the jurisprudence of the National and Provincial Courts of Justice regarding the most relevant issues of the municipal problem.
  • Develop skills to solve problem situations derived from real cases.
  • Deepening the variants and complexities of local management.

Basic admission requirement

The basic requirement to achieve the condition of applicant to carry out the Diplomas in the School of Law and Social Sciences of the Universidad de Mendoza is to have completed secondary education and be a creditor of the corresponding secondary degree or have approved the provisions of the current regulations regarding those over 25 years of age who, without a university degree, aspire to enter the University, in accordance with the provisions of art. . 7 of Law 24.521.

Priority recipients

  1. Lawyers and notaries,
  2. Magistrates of the national and provincial judicial powers
  3. Professionals from other degree courses and activities related to the municipal issue (accountants, political science graduates, historians, business administrators, etc.),
  4. Officials and agents of the national, provincial, municipal public administration,
  5. Municipal employees and officials who certify that they have completed secondary education.
  6. Advanced students of the law and notary degree course who have passed the Constitutional Law subject.

Discounts


The Diploma is subject to fees in order to guarantee the financing of its activities. The amounts of said contributions will be approved by the Rectorate of the Universidad de Mendoza, at the proposal of the Dean.

The tariff obligations of the students with the School run from the moment of enrollment and only cease when the student completes the Diploma or when he decides to suspend his studies. In the latter case, when the student decides to suspend/abandon the Diploma after enrolling, she must inform the Postgraduate and Continuing Education Department by means of a note stating her decision. Otherwise, he continues to be a student at the Universidad de Mendoza with the consequent charge of the tariffs that accrue from then on and until the date on which he has effectively communicated his resignation.

Universidad de Mendoza will recognize the following modalities of tariff reductions:

  • From an Institution to a Student: the applicant may particularly request financial support to complete the Diploma, from Institutions that they consider relevant. These Institutions will be considered "SPONSORS" of the student(s), if they are legally constituted. The commitment to pay the tariff set by the Universidad de Mendoza, will be between the student and that sponsoring Institution, and, in the event that it does not comply with the corresponding payment obligations, the student will assume the payment of the debt and the readjustments that it may have.
  • From one institution to the Universidad de Mendoza: in the case of legally constituted Institutions that are interested in the participation of their personnel in the Diploma course and that would like to officially register, they may do so if they assume the commitment to take charge of the fee and readjustment that corresponds to that or those students. The granting of tariff reductions to organizations and companies may be foreseen based on the number of applicants they incorporate, as agreed by current regulations.
  • From Universidad de Mendoza to the teaching staff of the Undergraduate and Postgraduate Degree Courses: the Universidad de Mendoza may grant up to half (1/2) scholarship to the members of its teaching staff to take the corresponding Diploma within the framework of the Policy for the improvement of the School's teaching staff.
  • From Universidad de Mendoza to the graduate with a degree awarded by the same or to the advanced students of the same: the Universidad de Mendoza may grant up to half (1/2) scholarship to professional graduates and (1/4) advanced students of the Universidad de Mendoza.
  • From Universidad de Mendoza who has economic impossibility or other special circumstances. The Diplomatura can grant scholarships to its students according to the budgetary possibilities. The number of scholarships cannot exceed 10% of the total enrollment.

In all cases in which a scholarship has been granted, the payment of the annual registration fee (when applicable), and the payment of the Diploma fee will be exempt from this benefit.

Certification


Diploma

To the students of the Diploma course who have met the requirements established in the current regulations to obtain the Diploma, the Universidad de Mendoza will issue the following certification:

"Diploma in Law and Municipal Management"

To obtain the Diploma certificate, the following is required:

  1. prove 75% attendance to classes,
  2. approve all the modules that make up the Curriculum,
  3. pass the final evaluation,
  4. have fulfilled the tariff obligations and
  5. Submit a personal note requesting the Diploma.

Diplomas are not equivalent to undergraduate, graduate or undergraduate degrees.

For students of the Diploma who do not meet the requirements, provided that they have attended 75% of the classes, the Universidad de Mendoza They will issue a certificate of attendance.

If the Diploma is presented as a Postgraduate Degree Course before the CONEAU, the students with a degree who obtained the Diploma may request that the equivalencies of the approved subjects be recognized, provided that a similar scheme has been maintained and authorized by the regulations in force.

National Certification – Endorsed by DNGyFU in the Cuyo Region

Throughout university history, Continuous Training and Extension, for its operation and to distinguish itself from undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate activities, was nominalized in different ways in order to be recognized as such: among them we can find the diplomas, courses and diplomas, among others.

Universidad de Mendoza, with 60 years of experience, worked on this concept from different areas, generating training that would be useful at the regional level to optimize the level of our Cuyo professionals in the search for original and productive offer.

There were no university diplomas endorsed by the National Directorate of University Management and Supervision (DNGyFU) in the Nuevo Cuyo Region.

The Diploma in Law and Municipal Management of the FCJS of the Universidad de Mendoza It has the national certification granted by the Ministry (DNGyFU), which gives the offer a different status since it opens the field to the student not only nationally but also internationally, to validate the knowledge acquired.

The DNGyFU validity is granted to those courses or trainings that have an important content and that constitute an offer of extension 'useful, original and necessary' for the region.

The offer will thus integrate the list of DNGyFU trainings visible at the national and international level, being documentation suitable for apostille, qualify and present outside the Argentine territory, at the level of certification of studies.
