Diploma in Futures Design – 2nd Cohort – REGISTRATION OPEN / Starts April 2026
Presentation
Futures Design Thinking involves the use of creativity and imagination to view alternative futures, identify emerging trends, understand social and technological changes, and anticipate the possible consequences of current decisions and actions in the future. It also focuses on the active participation of users, stakeholders and relevant experts in the design process.

Prof. DG Marcelo Sapoznik
Graphic and Advertising Designer. Graduated from the Pan American School of Art.
He served as director of renowned local design companies in which he acted as Project Leader in the process of Strategic Development and Implementation of Identities. In recent years he has specialized in the Development of Brand Strategies and Identity Design.
He is a Professor of the Universidad de Buenos Aires in the Degree Course of Graphic Design. He has taught classes and given lectures for more than 30 years at various national, public and private universities. Universidad de Palermo, at the University of the East, La Plata, at the National University of Río Negro, at the Miami Ad School and at the University of Siglo 21 in the Certificate in Innovation and Creativity, Innovation at Work.
He is currently a Full Professor of the subject Institutional Identity Design in the Graphic Design degree course at FADU, UBA. And Director the DiGeMySI Specialization Degree Course, Brand Design and Management in the Postgraduate Program at FADU/UBA; has the Professional Update Course at the FADU/UBA Futures Design; directs the Design Thinking Diploma for the development of projects with social impact from the University of San Isidro; Head teacher of the subjects Design Thinking and Futures Design in the Universidad de Mendoza; Subject teacher Graphic design at the School of Advertising Creatives. In charge of the course Strategic Brand Management in the Secretariat of Extension and Links with the Environment of the FADU, of the National University of the Litorial; Course Design Thinking at the National University of San Juan.
Participate in the Master in Strategic Communication Management in the module Strategic Branding Management Workshop from the Catholic University of Bolivia and UCASAL, Catholic University of Salta.
He is in charge of the Workshops Graphic design and Creativity of Unit 47 of San Isidro of the Penitentiary Service of the Province of Buenos Aires
Conducts various workshops Creativity and innovation, Design Thinking, Design of Futures y Brand Strategies for schools, universities and companies.
Has the course Introduction to Strategic Branding on the DOMESTIKA platform. He leads the Creativity and Innovation Sprints of the Higher School of Advertising Creatives and Brand Management at the Postgraduate Secretariat of the FADU, UBA.
He is co-creator of Bondad Creativa, a collective of creatives that believes in the power of doing good through ideas with the aim of transforming realities through creative power.
He was recently selected as co-ambassador of the Buenos Aires chapter of Creative Mornings, the largest creative community in the world where creative talent is celebrated by promoting creative connections in an inspiring community.

OBJECTIVES
Develop prospective skills: One of the main objectives is to provide students with the skills and tools necessary to analyze and anticipate possible futures. This involves learning to use prospective methodologies and techniques, such as scenario analysis, identifying trends and using strategic thinking models.
CURRICULUM
Module 1: What is Futures Design?
IIntroduction to foresight, prospective methods such as scenario analysis, identification and analysis of trends, construction of future scenarios, evaluation of risks and opportunities, strategic decision making, ethical considerations, case studies and practical examples.
Module 2: The challenge
Identification and analysis of a specific challenge. They would include understanding the context and perspectives of the actors involved, co-creating alternative futures, evaluating options, designing strategies and actions, and continuous evaluation and adjustment. The aim is to develop skills to address complex challenges, foster collaborative participation and promote informed decision-making to move towards desirable futures.
Module 3: Signs
The identification, analysis and interpretation of signs or manifestations of emerging changes or incipient trends will be addressed. Content would include understanding the different types of signals, methods for identifying and analyzing relevant signals, the use of signals in prospective design, the practice of prospective monitoring, and signal communication skills. The program would seek to develop the ability to detect trends, anticipate possible futures and inform informed decision making based on the identified signals.
Module 4: Trends
Identification, analysis and interpretation of relevant change patterns in different areas. Understanding of the different types of trends, methods for identifying and analyzing relevant trends, the use of trends in prospective design, the practice of trend monitoring, and trend communication skills. The program will seek to develop the ability to anticipate and understand the impact of trends on possible futures, as well as use them to make informed decisions and design forward-looking strategies.
Module 5: Scenarios
Identify drivers of change, apply scenario construction methods, evaluate and select scenarios, build coherent narratives, manage uncertainty and communicate scenarios effectively. How to approach the application of scenarios in different contexts, such as strategic planning and decision making, and develop skills to adapt and anticipate future changes. The goal is to provide students with the tools and knowledge necessary to use scenarios as a valuable prospective design tool.
Module 6: Storymaking
Address the fundamentals of this creative methodology, including the construction of future stories, the identification of characters and narrative arcs, the exploration of motivations and conflicts, the power of narrative, the practical application of the Storymaker in futures design projects, and the ability to communicate future stories effectively. The goal is to provide students with a powerful tool to explore and communicate possible futures in creative and meaningful ways.
Module 7: Action
Empower students to be active agents of change in creating desirable futures, providing them with the tools and knowledge necessary to take effective and responsible actions in designing futures.
Integrative project
The main objective of the final Integrative Project is to integrate and apply the knowledge, skills and competencies acquired in the previous modules and to promote students' ability to connect and apply their learning in a practical context.
RECIPIENTS
Aimed at professionals and advanced students of Architecture and Design degree courses. As well as degree courses in Engineering, Health Sciences, Medical Sciences and Technology.
DURATION
4 months - 180 hours
MODALITY
The Diploma is synchronous online. Likewise, she is permanently assisted by teachers and tutors who ensure guided learning.
The classes will be recorded and will be uploaded to the online class. The teaching materials will be enabled for the student's consultation and will be at their disposal. In addition, there is a permanent forum for doubts and queries.
In each module, guest specialists join the Diploma course's faculty through live synchronous videoconferences, expanding and enriching the topics addressed.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

UM University degree or graduates from other officially recognized public or private national universities, with a degree equivalent to that awarded by FAUD UM and from foreign universities with titles recognized by the competent authorities of their country.
Degree Analytical Certificate.
Extended CV and specification of professional work, publications and research work if done.
In the case of being an advanced student of the degree courses, they must present a certificate of regular student status and completion of the last year of the degree course.

A certification will be granted as University Diploma in Futures Design.
