The Diploma in Sports Kinesiology and Musculoskeletal Pain, Rectorate Resolution No. 63/2024, is developed as an extremely relevant and beneficial educational option for professionals interested in addressing the specific needs of athletes and those who suffer from musculoskeletal injuries or pain.

The academic program will provide the participant with an opportunity to train in current theoretical and practical content such as clinical practice guidelines, achieving security and confidence in a person-centered approach, based on scientific evidence and allowing appropriate performance in this field. rehabilitation specialty.

A relevant characteristic of this training is its orientation and focus on a BIO-PSYCHO-SOCIAL approach, in which not only technical aspects or skills are developed (HARD SKILLS) but also intra- and interpersonal skills (SOFT SKILLS).

Recipients


Graduated with a University Degree from:
• Graduate in Kinesiology and Physiatry
• Graduate in Kinesiology and Physiotherapy
• Physiotherapist, Physical Therapist with a Title or Certificate authorized in the country or abroad issued by a National or Private University, by a competent authority or by a recognized Scientific Society.
• Students of the degree course of the Lic. in Kinesiology who are in the last year of the course.

Mode


Hybrid, it is taught one Saturday a month, online and synchronous.
The last course module contains a face-to-face meeting at the UM Coursed through Google Meet and the Moodle online classroom.

Objectives


• Train professionals capable of performing effectively in the care of patients with injuries and/or pain associated with sports practice and in patients who present musculoskeletal pain in the spine and extremities. They may exercise at an institutional level or autonomously.
• Stimulate continuous training and permanent updating, for a person-centered physio-kinesic practice and intervention, based on current evidence.
• Value and appreciate the importance of the professional not only in early rehabilitation but also their key role in the process of preventing injuries or reducing the risk of experiencing musculoskeletal pain.
• Highlight the role of the Kinesiologist as a health and primary prevention agent.
