An introduction to the concepts that underpin constructivism in psychotherapy will be presented, including an analysis of the processes of human change. The seminar will also include a section on practical review and self-care for therapists.

Rationale for the Seminar

Cognitive constructivist psychotherapy involves one of the most relevant current modes of psychotherapeutic integration, making it of particular interest to review its central concepts, the processes of human change, and some techniques and strategies for its application.

Objectives

General Objective: Working on the core concepts of the cognitive constructivist approach.

Specific objectives: 
– That students incorporate the central concepts of the cognitive constructivist approach, considering as a point of reference the contributions of Michael Mahoney and Vittorio Guidano.
– Learning strategies for the constructivist clinical interview.
– Define therapeutic goals and develop personal self-care strategies on the part of the therapist.

The Postgraduate Coordination of the Psychology Degree of the School of Health Sciences of the Universidad de Mendoza[Organization Name] is pleased to invite you to the postgraduate course: 9th Cohort of the Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy 2026. After several decades of research on the effectiveness of existing tools, psychotherapy now offers a wide variety of responses and treatment options for specific ailments. Unfortunately, this valuable information does not always reach practicing professionals. Therefore, this diploma program aims to bridge the gap between clinical practice and research, shortening the gap that has persisted between them for decades. To this end, the program will foster an integration of knowledge among students based on updated literature and guide its application through practice in an academic context. Clinical exercises will be given the same level of importance as theoretical training. During the program, participants will explore different psychotherapeutic models and how these can be integrated into the most frequent reasons for consultation. The objective of this program is to promote theoretical training and the development of therapeutic skills for the efficient practice of psychotherapy, tailored to the needs of patients. To achieve this goal, continuous training and evaluation will be carried out, in addition to a final comprehensive exam.
