Diploma in Contextual Therapies: principles and clinical skills

Training in contextual therapies, with emphasis on conceptual deepening and clinical skills training for conceptualization and intervention from DBT, ACT, FAP and Behavioral Activation.
Foundation
In recent decades, evidence-based psychological treatments have experienced increasing expansion and consolidation internationally. Among them, the so-called Third Generation Therapies stand out, revolutionizing contemporary clinical practice with interventions focused on acceptance, psychological flexibility, and the value of context in behavioral change.
This Diploma program aims to provide an overview and in-depth study of the development, characteristics, conceptualization, and main intervention strategies of Contextual Therapies models. It seeks to foster in graduates an integration based on updated literature and training in the core skills and/or competencies of each therapy, in order to guide their application in clinical psychology practice.
Objective
- To understand the fundamental principles of Contextual Therapies, their epistemic and scientific bases and their direct application in psychotherapeutic intervention.
Specific objectives
- Analyze in depth the historical evolution and emergence of Contextual Models.
- To rigorously examine the theoretical foundations, epistemic assumptions, and core processes that underpin the different models, identifying similarities, differences, and unique contributions.
- Acquire basic skills for case conceptualization and for the design and implementation of treatments based on third-generation models.
- To delve deeper into the main clinical intervention strategies of each model.
Modality and duration
The activity will take place from April to December 2026, in a synchronous online format via Google Meet.
- Frequency: weekly meetings, every Thursday.
- Hours: 18 a.m. to 9 p.m
To obtain the certificate, a minimum of 80% attendance and approval of a final integrative project are required.
