The Diploma aims to provide fundamental tools for litigants to perform effectively in oral hearings. This academic offering seeks to train students in the key skills of adversarial criminal litigation.

The Diploma aims to:

  1. a) Identify and analyze the principles of the accusatory criminal process.
  2. b) Exercise the fundamental skills of criminal litigation.
  3. c) Practice presenting cases in pre-trial hearings, challenge hearings and trial hearings, with or without juries, under the premises of an adversarial system.
  4. d) Contribute to the preparation of our students for the current demands of criminal litigation.

At the end of the Diplomas, the knowledge acquired and the skills developed will allow graduates to be able to:

  • Position yourself strategically in the face of criminal litigation.
  • Properly design your theory for the case, according to the role you have to play in a process.
  • Know and practice the main litigation skills in hearings (case theory; direct examination; cross-examination; objections, etc.).

Basic admission requirement

The Diploma is intended, primarily, to:

  1. a) Lawyers,
  2. b) Prosecutors and Defenders,
  3. c) Judges of the national and provincial Judicial Branches,
  4. d) advanced students of the law degree course.

If the Diploma is presented as a Postgraduate Degree Course before the CONEAU, the students with a degree who obtained the Diploma may request that the equivalencies of the approved subjects be recognized, provided that a similar scheme has been maintained and authorized by the regulations in force.

Curriculum


La Diplomas It is organized around seven (7) modules that are theoretical-practical training in which various topics within the field of the specialty are developed, with the aim of updating students in the in-depth knowledge of those considered most significant of oral litigation and its skills.

Each module will consist of two parts. The first will be a theoretical class on Fridays, where the instructor will provide the content. The second will be a practical workshop on Saturdays, where students will build on the knowledge provided by the instructor. Study materials will also be provided and are available online.

  2. b) pass all the modules that make up the Curriculum,
  3. c) pass the final evaluation,
  4. d)have fulfilled the tariff obligations and
  5. e)submit a personal note requesting the Diploma.
