DIRECTORATE OF EXTENSION AND INSTITUTIONAL RELATIONS

Presentation

The institutional objectives of the University must be articulated with the social needs established as priorities by the community as a whole, assuming the challenge of combining academic excellence and social commitment as one of the axes of the University's educational policy.

In this way, extension activities are not limited to the transfer of knowledge from the university to society, but rather imply a space for dialogue and socio-cultural interaction in which knowledge is recreated and modified in its articulation with society. .

Objectives of the Directorate

  • Promote the articulation of the institutional objectives of the University with the needs of society in general and sectors of greater social vulnerability in particular.
  • Promote programs and activities that promote the social inclusion of sectors with fewer socioeconomic resources.
  • To develop a wide artistic-cultural offer, promoting the activities of the artistic organizations of the UM.
  • Contribute to the cultural and artistic development of the province, favoring a cultural offer that promotes active spectators and with critical judgment.
  • Promote the insertion of the Universidad de Mendoza in the debate of the current social, political, scientific and cultural, providing a critical view from the knowledge developed in our house of studies and contributing to the search for solutions to the different problems.
  • Develop projects and activities of formal and non-formal education, assuming education as a vehicle of dignity, equality and citizenship.
  • Promote institutional policies that rescue and enhance the cultural, natural, scientific and historical heritage of the UM.
  • Promote an editorial policy that broadens the recipients of the published publications; incorporate new communication tools and greater symmetry in the participation of academic units in editorial projects.
  • Encourage the participation of all cloisters in university extension projects and activities.
  • Promote systematic actions of articulation with teaching and research.
