DIRECTORATE OF EXTENSION AND INSTITUTIONAL RELATIONS

Volunteering

The University promotes the training of professionals of excellence, but also that they are people committed to the problems and well-being of the community.

That is why the University Extension and Institutional Relations Directorate encourages and promotes University Volunteering.

Why is Volunteering at the University promoted?

Why:

  • Encourages Individual Social Responsibility: volunteer service is an excellent tool to train professionals who are sensitive to the problems suffered by an organization or a community and manage to commit them to their progress. Also, it is an excellent opportunity for them to visualize how their new knowledge can contribute to creating a better future.
  • Stimulates the development of new skills: students have the opportunity to apply the knowledge acquired in a real context and learn about the social and economic problems of the setting where they decide to help. It is there where they will apply their creativity and their ability to solve problems, optimizing existing resources.
  • Enhances academic performance: the formal commitment that you will acquire with an organization or community will help the student to begin to manage their time with the responsibility assumed by a professional immersed in the labor field.
  • It offers the opportunity to establish new networks: As they develop their volunteering they will meet people, generate new links, which will allow them to start contacts and opportunities at a professional level.
  • Provides Added Value to your Curriculum Vitae: Adding new performances and experiences within an organization or community that also reflect social commitment, are highly valued in job search platforms.
