LINES OF INVESTIGATION
I- The Water-Energy Nexus. Regulatory synergies in the field of Renewable Energy. Construction of the legal regime for Hydroelectric Energy. (Phase2nd).
Responsible Researcher – Prof. Dr. Liber Martín (liber.martin@um.edu.ar)
Objective: The objective of this line of research is to leave behind the independent and isolated management of the water, energy and environment sectors to regulate RE by managing them in an integrated manner. After having identified and analyzed the Water-Energy interrelation in the field of Renewable Energies in Phase I, this line of research continues the theme by focusing on the study of a renewable energy source in particular: Hydroelectricity. After noticing a singular range of
national and provincial regulations that regulate hydroelectricity in isolation based on the subject of water, energy, environment, climate change, administrative contracting, etc. that sometimes overlap and contradict, all within the scope
of a federal State where they coexist with a complex network of powers that requires coordination, this line of research proposes to review, from new approaches such as the Water-Energy Nexus, the way in which the
legal regime of Hydroelectric Energy in Argentina. All of this, with the aim of identifying the interrelationships and potential synergies between the different sectoral regulations to analyze them critically, with a view to contributing to the proposal of regulatory reforms and public policy guidelines.

Part of the necessary formation of this Register of Rights with a view to avoiding conflicts that in
consequently arise, thus reducing litigation, expenses on the part of individuals and savings of economic and human resources on the part of the administration.
All this through delimiting the content and scope of the groundwater Records in accordance with the water legislation of Mendoza; investigate the registration and cadastre systems for water rights provided for in water laws and codes
provincials of Argentina.; investigate the legal regulation regarding Water Rights Registries in comparative legislation and identify conflicts in Mendoza that are linked to the deficient formation of the Groundwater Rights Registries.

IV- Water and Sustainable Development. Cities and Law.
Responsible Researcher – Prof. Dr. María Valentina Erice (valentina.erice@um.edu.ar)
Objective: Our species, now mostly urban, has the right to live in prosperous cities where we can lead a dignified life, without crossing the planetary limits that are fundamental to maintain the stability of the planet and the well-being of those who inhabit it and of future generations. The general objective of this line of research takes SDG 11 as its starting point: “make cities more inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable.” In our research we analyze some of the most urgent challenges we face that must find solutions in cities: climate change mitigation; comprehensive waste management and
provide a comprehensive ecological structure with universal access to urban “green” public areas and spaces. Likewise, we ask ourselves what contributions we can make from the law and how new technologies can help us so that cities are peaceful, environmentally safe, clean and intelligent. All this from: analyzing public policies and the current regulatory framework in order to determine if it values the importance of the problems we face as citizens finding solutions from cities, respecting the paradigm of sustainable urban development; formulate proposals for changes that contribute to making inclusion, resilience, security, competitiveness and sustainability part of the lives of the
citizens and the productive dynamics of the city.

A person who at the age of 16 was already teaching reading and writing, he founded the first School in Chile.
Normal. He did many fundamental things for the Nation that deserve to be known by everyone, such as the first national Census.

Normal. He did many fundamental things for the Nation that deserve to be known by everyone, such as the first national Census.
