Every September 4th, Argentina commemorates Secretary's Day, a date intended to recognize the fundamental work of those who occupy a strategic position in companies, organizations and institutions.
These professionals go far beyond administrative tasks: they are responsible for the management, planning, coordination, and daily operational support of work teams. Their daily work demands a high level of commitment, efficiency, and great flexibility to adapt to technological innovations and modern communication channels.
In 2026, this distinction takes on a unique significance due to the challenges of the digital environment, where remote work, artificial intelligence platforms, and online connectivity are added to their existing responsibilities. Despite these changes, the core of their profession remains the same: to support, streamline, and enhance collective work.
Although many Latin American countries celebrate this profession internationally on April 26 (a date established at the First International Congress of Secretaries in 1970), Argentina and Uruguay maintained September 4 for their annual celebration. In our country, the official celebration on this day was consolidated in the 1970s, paying tribute to the anniversary of the creation of the federation that brought these workers together and recognizing their labor rights.
From Universidad de Mendoza We extend our warmest greetings and congratulations to all the secretarial staff on their day, recognizing their dedication, competence, and the valuable contribution they make to the development of our institution. ✨
¡Happy Secretary's Day 2026!
