Registration is now open for the module on "Psychological First Aid for First Contact"

In times of emergency, accidents, or disasters, initial support is not limited to physical care. Emotional support and early intervention in cases of psychological crisis are essential to reducing the effects of post-traumatic stress and promoting a full recovery.

Under the premise that "Being there makes all the difference", the School of Medical Sciences (FCM) from the Universidad de Mendoza (UM) announces the opening of registration for the module "Psychological First Aid for Initial Contact"This activity is part of the prestigious Higher University Diploma in Initial Assistant in Integrative First AidHowever, it is presented on this occasion in an accessible way so that those interested can take it independently.

Practical tools for critical moments

The educational space has been meticulously designed to provide attendees with conceptual tools and practical skills essential to providing immediate support to people going through acute crisis situations.

During the intensive session, participants will learn containment methodologies, active listening, emotional stabilization, and safe referral guidelines, enabling them to act with empathy, responsibility, and technical competence in the first contact with the affected person.

Target audience and format of the event

The training is inclusive and multidisciplinary. It is intended for:

• Students and professionals of degree courses related to health and emergency (medicine, nursing, psychology, social work, paramedics, firefighters, among others).

• General public interested in acquiring community resilience skills and solidarity assistance in crises.

The module will be delivered in person and intensively according to the following schedule:

• Date: Saturday, June 13, 2026.

• Schedule: From 09:00 to 5:00.

As this is a fee-based activity, the following investment values ​​have been established:

• Students of the Universidad de Mendoza: $15.000

• External audience / Professionals: $30.000
