Global tools for the classroom: the Directorate of International Relations invites the COIL Workshop for UM Teachers
A key online training session on the internationalization of education will take place on June 12th. Learn about the pedagogical foundations, design strategies, and hear from local teachers experienced in this online collaborative approach.

La International Relations Department from the Universidad de Mendozatogether with University Postgraduate Diploma in International Online Collaborative Learning (COIL)invite the entire teaching community of the institution to participate in the online training workshop called "Introduction to COIL for UM Faculty".

The meeting will take place next Wednesday, June 12th, starting at 8:30 amthrough an online platform. The space is specially designed and structured for professors from all academic campuses and disciplinary specialties of the University who are interested in expanding the pedagogical boundaries of their courses.

The COIL methodology (Collaborative International Online LearningThis has become globally established as a fundamental tool for promoting the internationalization of the "at home" curriculum. Through this training workshop, participants will be able to internalize the essential skills to connect their courses with universities abroad, allowing students to experience a multicultural and collaborative environment without leaving the online classroom.

Workshop themes

Throughout the day, a dynamic program focused on teaching practice will be addressed, which includes the following points:

  • Fundamentals of the approach: Understanding exactly what COIL is and what its real impact is on the internationalization of higher education.

  • Curricular integration: To understand the methodological step-by-step process for designing a project and integrating it harmoniously into the subject programs.

  • Pedagogical principles: Analyze the didactic foundations of online collaboration and the structure of student exchanges.

  • Conflict and challenge resolution: Identify in advance the most frequent challenges that arise when coordinating with teachers from other cultures and develop effective strategies to solve them.

  • Institutional success stories: The valuable testimony of a teacher from the Universidad de Mendozawho will share firsthand his experience and the results obtained in previous implementations of international collaboration.
