The School of Engineering held its first Annual Sustainability Conference with prominent figures
With a diverse and enriching program, FI-UM reaffirmed its commitment to sustainable development, critical thinking, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

The School of Engineering of the Universidad de Mendoza (FI-UM) successfully concluded its First Annual Sustainability Conference, an academic space that brought together specialists, teachers, students and professionals committed to building a more responsible and conscious future.

During the event, thematic discussions were held addressing current challenges related to sustainability, from the management of non-financial indicators to the role of communities and strategic alliances. The active participation of the audience and the quality of the presentations reflected the growing interest in integrating sustainability into various fields of knowledge and professional practice.

The FI-UM deeply thanks the invited speakers and experts, whose generosity and experience were fundamental pillars of this edition:

  • Mariela Simó and Paloma Ríos, for his discussion on “External assurance of non-financial indicators”.
  • Gustavo Rivarola and Sofía Raich, for their contribution in “Definitions for sustainable mining”.
  • Analía Andrada and Mercedes Cisternas, for their presentation on “Networks for a sustainable future: people, communities, strategic alliances”.
  • Andres Valero, for their presentation on “Global Compact: Strategies to achieve the sustainable development goals”.

This day marks the beginning of an institutional agenda that seeks to strengthen dialogue, training and action around sustainability, from a comprehensive and collaborative perspective.

Thank you for promoting sustainability with FI-UM!
