Universidad de Mendoza Registration is now open for the course "Addressing Suicidal Behavior: Evidence-Based Assessment and Intervention Tools"

La Universidad de Mendoza (UM) announces the opening of registration for the course "Addressing Suicidal Behavior: Evidence-Based Assessment and Intervention Tools", an intensive training designed to address one of the most complex and urgent problems in contemporary mental health.

An ethical and effective approach to suicide risk requires rigorous scientific knowledge and operational tools for immediate application. In this scenario, frameworks such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and contextual therapies are consolidated as references for the evaluation and management of clinical risk. Therefore, this training program combines theoretical foundations with a highly practical methodology focused on training in specific clinical skills.

🎯 Objectives and thematic areas

Throughout the training, participants will learn to:

• Assess and stratify risk: Implementation of the LRAMP protocol (from DBT) and detailed analysis of risk and protective factors.

• Design security plans: Development of individualized crisis management strategies and referral or hospitalization criteria.

• Clinical skills training: Application of techniques for emotional regulation, tolerance of discomfort and problem solving.

• Deliberate practice: Interactive classes with analysis of real clinical cases and dynamics of role playing to consolidate skills in consultation.

• Modality: Synchronous online (3 live online meetings).

• Start date: Thursday, October 8.

• Days and times: Thursdays from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

The proposal is aimed at psychologists, psychiatrists and mental health professionalsAs well as regular students in their final year of related degree courses. A professional degree or certificate of regular student status is required.
