Universidad de Mendoza and the Universities for Peace Forum invite you to the Peace Agents Training Course

The initiative aims to train individuals capable of intervening in educational, professional, community, and institutional settings by developing skills in dialogue, effective communication, negotiation, mediation, and emotional intelligence, promoting collaborative solutions and a culture of peace. The program is based on the premise that peace is not merely the absence of violence, but rather the active construction of more just, inclusive societies that respect human rights.

The course will be held online on the following days: August 11, 18 and 25, and September 1 and 8, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM (Argentina)It will have a total workload of 20 hours, distributed between synchronous and asynchronous activities, through the Moodle platform of the Universidad de Mendozaand is aimed at students, teachers, academic managers, professionals and the general public.

During the five sessions, topics such as the foundations of positive peace, human rights, the culture of peace, the role of the Peace Agent, effective communication, collaborative negotiation, mediation, emotional management, and practical conflict resolution will be addressed through case studies and simulation activities. As a final activity, participants will develop an integrative project aimed at applying the knowledge acquired to a real-world case within their field of work.

Academic coordination will be handled by Prof. Dr. Georgina Alejandra Guardatti, coordinator of the Intercultural Chair of Education for Peace at the Universidad de Mendoza, and from Prof. Mg. Paula Vázquez Viera, Director of International Relations of the Universidad de MendozaIn addition, it will feature the participation of leading specialists from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Spain, and Mexico, belonging to universities and institutions committed to the promotion of peace and human rights.

Participants will receive a certificate of attendance issued jointly by the Forum of Universities for Peace and Universidad de MendozaThose who complete the final integrative project will receive the corresponding certificate of completion.

Inaugural Conference of the Peace Agents Training Course

The training cycle will begin with a inaugural conference led by the prestigious Argentine diplomat Virginia Gamba, internationally recognized for its track record in peacebuilding and child protection in armed conflict contexts.

The conference, "Building peace in the contemporary context: assumptions, opportunities and requirements for action", the Wednesday, August 5th, at 3:00 PM (Argentina), in mode onlineDuring this meeting, the specialist will share her reflections on current challenges for peacebuilding, opportunities to promote a culture of peace, and the requirements for effective action in contemporary conflict scenarios.
