With the aim of training professionals capable of understanding and addressing addictions from multiple dimensions—biological, psychological, social, and legal—, the School of Medical Sciences of the Universidad de Mendoza presents the new Diploma in Addictions: Beyond SubstancesThis academic proposal, developed in conjunction with the Center for State and Society Studies (CEDES) and the Center for Social Studies on Health and Interventions in Addictions (CESASIN), seeks to update the interdisciplinary approach and treatment of addictions in diverse contexts.
The diploma program will begin in March 2026 and will last eight months, with bi-weekly hybrid meetings: Fridays from 16 to 20 pm and Saturdays from 9 am to 1 pm. The format combines online classes via Google Meet and in-person classes at the UM's main campus, allowing for flexible and nationwide participation.
It is aimed at professionals in health, psychology, education, social work, law, and other disciplines related to supporting people with substance use disorders. It is also geared towards those working in the health system (primary care, hospitals, mental health services), education, and social services.
Academic direction will be provided by Dr. Juan José Vilapriño and Lic. Manuel Benítez, leading experts in the field of addiction interventions. Upon completion, participants will receive a university certificate issued by the School of Medical Sciences.
