In the framework of the World Food Day 2025, Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition from the Universidad de Mendoza campus Río Cuarto, carried out a series of academic and outreach activities with the participation of students and teachers from different levels of the degree course.
The proposals began on October 2, having a talk given by Javier Becerra, representative of the Supply Market of Río Cuarto, who explained the controls carried out on the entry and exit of fruits and vegetables. The activity took place on the university campus and was attended by students from 3rd and 5th year.
Subsequently, the October 9, a was carried out educational visit to the Abasto Market, organized by the chairs Microbiology and Parasitology y Food Technology, in charge of the teachers Lucrecia Di Santo, Cecilia Rocha and Jasmine Tobaldo, with the participation of students from 2nd year.
Finally, the October 16, coinciding with the commemorative date, the degree course participated in a Day at Plaza Roca, organized in conjunction with the Municipality of Río Cuarto and with the participation of the city's Supply Market, simultaneously with activities carried out on the central campus of Mendoza. In the educational stands, the students promoted the food education and nutritional assessment in the community, providing information and tools to promote healthy habits.
These actions reflect the commitment of the Universidad de Mendoza with the comprehensive training of its students and its connection with the community, strengthening awareness about the importance of healthy, safe, and sustainable food.
