Universidad de Mendoza campus Río Cuarto, will be the setting for the book presentation “Approach to the Patient with Neurological Damage”, a practical guide intended for professionals and students in the health field who work with people who have some neuromotor impairment.
The presentation will be given by Santiago Giordano, Esq. and the Friday, September 4th, at 2:30 pm, in the Auditorium of the Universidad de Mendoza campus Río CuartoThe activity is jointly organized by the Campus library and coordination of the Bachelor's degree course in Kinesiology.
The work proposes a look clinical, functional and up-to-date on the approach to patients with neurological damage, providing concrete tools for assessment, the design of therapeutic objectives and intervention in different contexts.
The book is designed especially for kinesiologists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists and students of these disciplines, as well as for all those health professionals involved in rehabilitation processes of people with neuromotor impairment.
Throughout its chapters, the proposal addresses different aspects related to neurological rehabilitation, from postural control to gaitThis includes addressing transfers and the upper limb. The work combines professional experience with neurophysiological principles, aiming to offer clear, accessible content applicable to clinical practice.
One of the central tenets of the proposal is to understand rehabilitation from a functional and person-centered perspective. In this sense, the approach is based on the plasticity of the nervous system and ensures that the interventions make sense for the actual activities and needs of each patient.
The work also highlights the importance of interdisciplinary work and support during recovery processes, understanding that behind every recovered movement and every restored function there is a process involving professionals, patients, families and health teams.
The presentation also provides an opportunity for students and professionals in the university community to become familiar with a bibliographic tool directly linked to the training and practice of Kinesiology and neurological rehabilitation.
