University of Alicante – Erasmus Scholarship (ARQ – FAUD)


INTENDED FOR ARCHITECTURE TEACHERS (FAUD – UM)

The School of Architecture, Urban Planning and Design and the Directorate of International Relations and Language Center of the Universidad de Mendoza are pleased to announce the opening of the Erasmus+ KA171 call with the University of Alicante, aimed at teachers of the Architecture degree course.

The ERASMUS+ programme offers an exceptional opportunity for international training for our academics, as well as encouraging the creation of alliances and the development of joint projects with their counterparts at the University of Alicante.

This scholarship is the result of the solid alliance between the Universidad de Mendoza and the University of Alicante, and the collaborative project developed by the School of Architecture, Urban Planning and Design and the International Relations departments of both institutions to promote the internationalization of higher education. This scholarship is added to those obtained by Internacionales during the 2023/2024 academic year, reaching a total of five Erasmus+ projects won in one year.

The internationalisation strategy of the Degree Course in Architecture of the School of Architecture, Urban Planning and Design is based on the creation of solid and collaborative links with academic institutions of recognised experience, such as the University of Alicante. This mobility of our teaching staff towards the Degree Course in Fundamentals of Architecture of the University of Alicante is a significant step in this process. Key objectives include strengthening academic cooperation, promoting established agreements and fostering Academic Exchange and curricular innovations.

The presence of our faculty at the UA has the fundamental purpose of thinking of new strategies that make possible An innovative approach to pedagogical logic and approaches specific to architectural design teaching. Reflecting on the role of applied arts in design experimentation and its poetic dimension.

This faculty mobility will not only result in curricular innovations that will enrich our students' educational experience, but will also allow for an exchange of knowledge and methodologies that will benefit both institutions. This type of collaboration is essential to fostering a dynamic and diverse academic environment.

The conditions and deadlines are detailed below.

Recipients.

  • FAUD ARCHITECTURE TEACHERS – UM of the Mendoza campus, campus Río Cuarto and campus San Rafael.

Duration of the Scholarship.

  • 5 (five) business days plus two (2) days considered travel days.
  • Teaching activity must include a minimum of 8 (eight) teaching hours per week.

Mobility period:

The teacher will be able to carry out his/her mobility within the academic cycle corresponding to the first semester of 2026 - before June.

Coverage of the ERASMUS Scholarship

  • Round trip transfer (Support for travel expenses)
    • 8000 km or more 1500 EUR per participant.
  • Travel expenses (Individual support): Total 1120 EUR.

Application date

  • March 15 to July 1, 2025.

Conditions to apply:

  • Teachers from the Degree Course in Architecture from the School of Architecture, Urban Planning and Design of the University of Madrid may participate. Universidad de Mendoza, who can prove a minimum seniority as a FAUD teacher of 5 (five) years.
  • Full, Associate and/or Adjunct teachers in charge of the Tenure with more than 7 (seven) years of seniority in said position may not participate.
  • Members of the FAUD Management Team will not be able to participate.
  • Teachers who have already participated in scholarships, mobility or similar programs will not be able to participate.

Selection procedure:

Once the call is closed, the Universidad de Mendoza is responsible for the pre-selection of the candidate, according to a previously established evaluation grid (detailed in the work plan)The selected candidate will be nominated to the University of Alicante, which will ultimately be responsible for accepting the scholarship recipient.

Once UA communicates the results, the teacher must contact them to coordinate the travel date, activities to be carried out and classes given, accommodation and other items that contribute to the correct organization of the trip.

Important information

  • The number of places is 1 (one), it is considered at a regional level and is not pre-allocated to any partner university. Universities that send their correct nominations within the deadline and according to the established procedure will be considered first.
  • The financial scholarship is awarded by the University of Alicante, through the ERASMUS program. It is she who will tell the beneficiary how and when they will access it.
  • It cannot be combined with other scholarships or financial aid awarded by this institution or any other, of any type. In case of non-compliance with any of the items of the teaching mobility regulations, the money must be returned in full to the university that granted it.
  • Those who have never obtained an Erasmus+ scholarship will have priority.
  • The beneficiary teacher must submit, apart from the specific Erasmus+ documentation, the Tax Withholding Certificate with express mention of the agreement between our countries to avoid double taxation. Otherwise, the financial aid will be reduced by 24% due to Spanish tax regulations.
  • Until receiving the grant, the teacher must have his or her own money for his or her maintenance.
  • The teacher must keep all receipts and invoices, which must be submitted to us at the UA Mobility Office, as proof of expenses. The invoices must be in his/her name.
  • It is the teacher's responsibility to arrange a visa if necessary, purchase tickets and medical insurance, and reserve accommodation.

  • Full or Adjunct professors of any of the degree courses taught at the university may apply. Universidad de Mendoza, who can prove between 5 (five) and 15 (fifteen) years of seniority in the institution.
  • Italian Language B1 (Minimum)
  • Members of Management Teams from any of the academic units, regardless of their position, may not participate.
  • Full or adjunct professors who have 16 or more years of seniority in that position will not be eligible to participate.
    Teachers who have already participated in scholarships, mobility programs, or similar internationally funded programs will not be eligible to participate.
  • It is mandatory to have a current passport.
  • Commit not to renounce the place won, in case of being favored.
