Presentation of the School
The School of Engineering of the Universidad de Mendoza was created, as recorded in Act No. 34 of the Council of Higher Education, on August 14, 1.961, becoming the third academic unit that was created within the scope of this university, after the School of Legal Sciences and the School of Law. Architecture and Urbanism.
The School of Engineering began operating in 1.962 in the ICEI school building, on Gral. Paz street in the city of Mendoza. It currently has its own building on the university block, at Diagonal Emilio Descotte 750 in the city.
Although it began its activity with the Electronic and Electrical Engineering degree course, today it has engineering specialties of the highest academic level, with professional graduates who work at the regional, national and international levels: Electronic Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Bioengineering.
Currently, this faculty has postgraduate degree courses accredited by CONEAU, such as the Doctorate in Engineering and the Master's in Teleinformatics, as well as projects approved by CONEAU itself, such as the Specialization in Technology Management and the Specialization in Science and Technology Teaching.
With the innovative spirit that characterizes this School, the Teaching training course was incorporated into its academic offer through the cycle of Teaching Staff for Professionals with a Bachelor's Degree. In the same way, responding the needs of the environment, Electrical Engineering and the Technical Degree in Videogame Programming were also included. There are ohter projects in the portfolio approved by the Ministry of Education of the Nation with the same level of excellence.
Its policy highlights the guidelines that ensure academic quality, the improvement of teaching and non-teaching staff, scientific and technological development, the extension and dissemination of knowledge, inter-institutional cooperation; link with the productive sector.
It registers to its credit more than 2000 graduates of the different degree courses, agreements with different organizations in the region, the country and the world; students who have accessed international scholarships to continue their fourth level studies abroad; institutes that permanently promote research, the dictation of courses, workshops, seminars, which aim at the continuous training of students, graduates, teachers of the institution and the general public.
It can be said that the balance of these more than fifty years is positive for others.
