Assembly of Private Universities Association and Rectors in the framework of the 60 years of CRUP

Between October 4 and 6, three events of international relevance will be held in the City of Buenos Aires. The auditorium of the Government House of the City, located in Uspallata 3160, will host the activities of October 5 and 6. While day 4 will take place in the Auditorium of the Cisneros Annex of the Inter-American Open University, Av. Montes de Oca 745.

 

The celebration for 60th Anniversary of the Council It will be the unifying fact of Rectors of Universities of Latin America and the Caribbean. It is a triple day that will begin on October 4 with the inauguration of the 17th Assembly of the Network of Latin American and Caribbean Associations of Private Universities, of which the CRUP is a founding member. On this occasion, the Council is once again the host, as was the case in 2017 and 2018, and all university rectors and authorities are invited to participate in the conference.

On the second day, October 5, the REALCUP Rectors' Athenaeum will be inaugurated, which seeks to promote a space for exchange and debate on the situation of higher education in the Latin American and Caribbean region, identifying the challenges and limitations it faces in a context of sustained progress, the globalization of the technological revolution and the changing demands of the social and productive sector.

The World Conference on Higher Education held in May 2022 in Barcelona has left important reflections on the inclusion, equity and quality of higher education. The social inequities that the Latin American and Caribbean region is going through challenge the National States and Higher Education Institutions to transform their regulatory frameworks, their practices and their conceptions to integrate more and more people into the higher education system under the motto "leave no one behind" (UNESCO 2022).

In this sense, the REALCUP Athenaeum, like the CRUP one that begins on the 6th, will have the participation, as exhibitors, of two international academics. Is about Jamil Salmi y susanna karakhanyan. They will talk about: Quality and relevance of the higher education offer: trends, challenges and limitations at a global level (during 5/10); Y Flexible training paths: trends, challenges and limitations at a global level  (during 6/10).

Finally, on October 6, the central celebration for the 60th Anniversary of CRUP will take place, which is concomitant with the 40th anniversary of FIMPES, the Mexican Association of Private Universities, and the 50th anniversary of ACIET, the Colombian Association of Private Universities.
